A Case of Olfactory Hallucination in Adolescent Schizophrenia

Abstract

|
The author sketch some of the psychodynamic consideration in the schizophrenic adolescent patient with pure olfactory hallucination. The author think that the main dynamics of olfactory hallucination is sexual conflict. Impulsive sexual acting out, which provoked massive guilt feeling in the super-ego: dominant person, is result in the self-punitive nature, and provoked foul odored olfactory hallucination. Though the patient complains olfactory hallucination, which is considered more primitive and less elaborately content in common sense, he may exhibit good therapeutic effect in the case of complaining of pure olfactory hallucination that is related to his own body.
